Power to the People

That is what I thought when I saw this picture of Colin. He seems to be supporting something enthusiastically. I am just not sure what it is. He has made it through the two back-to-back days of day care, but he is really exhausted. He is still sleeping in his car seat. I am debating if I should wake him up. If I don't, we may pay later tonight. If I do, I will pay now. He needs to be up before his mommy gets home.

High Chair

Did I mention that I have a high chair now? I still not real up to speed on this new way of eating but I like my new chair. I can sit at the same level as everyone else now. I need to run because Mon-Tues is my busy time of the week. I have to go to school two days in a row.

Getting Bigger Every Week

Now that I am 5 months old, I can sit up like a big boy! OK, not really. But I can lean back against the corner of the couch all by myself. Take a good look at the couches because they will be replaced in less than one week. Hmmm...might be a good time to spit up.

Here I am with my stuffed animal, a soft, cuddly lamb. My Cousin Gavin kindly looked after him until I was old enough to hold him myself. Thanks Gavin.

Another week is done and now it is time for bed. Sweet Dreams!

First Meal of "Solids"

With reaching the big milestone of 5 months, we have reached the point of eating some solids. I can't believe we are here already. These meals consist of mixing a dry rice cerel with some breast milk or formula. Colin took to this new style of eating without much trouble, but his reaction was more of puzzelment than anything else. I can't say that he liked it, but I can't say that he hated it. We will see over the next week if he forms a stronger opinion.

Big Trucks

I apologize to all the fans out there for the lack of postings this week. Chief Blogmaster Daddy was traveling this week. Since Daddy was out of town, Colin got to spend some time with his grandparents and less time in daycare.

I may not be rolling over on my own yet, but here I am reading my Big Truck Book. This is part of my morning ritual when I don't have to go to school.

By the way, I turned 5 months old yesterday. Amazing how time flies!

Day-care is over for the week!

I am very happy that I have made it through another week of day-care. Those days are pretty rough on me because I don't nap very well with all of the activity. There are 7 other babies in the room and a couple of care-givers. How is one supposed to sleep? One thing is for sure, I get my fair share of attention. Mommy and Daddy might have to pay double considering the amount of time I require the attention of the care-givers. Out of the 8 babies, I was the only one being held both times Daddy came by today.

I am a much happier baby on my days off when Mommy and I can hang out.

Usually, I am so tired I get fussy in the evening, but tonight I just conked right out in the middle of a meal.

Super Bowl XLII

This Sunday was a big day in a young man's life. His first Super Bowl. Colin couldn't seem to understand that the Steelers were not playing in the big game. He seemed to be happy for both teams so I guess he just wanted to see a good game. If he was able to stay up, he would have seen a thrilling finish with several 4Qtr lead changes. Better luck next year for Steelers fans.

Saucer Time

Colin is big enough now that he is able to try out his saucer. Thanks Aunt Alison and Uncle Dan and Gavin and Keira. He seems to enjoy the new perspective and is able to turn around the full 360. He is often startled by the tube that can roll with several plastic beads inside. We don't spend a lot of time in the saucer yet, but I am sure it will become a favorite.

The whole family is pretty much healthy now. Day care is still pretty tough on Colin because it is hard for him to nap with all of the activity. He likes to see what is going on and fights going to sleep. Fortunately, it is only 3 days a week and he is typically in great spirits the other 4 days.

Colin is looking forward to his first Super Bowl, but has not yet picked his team. I have explained several times that the Steelers are not playing, but I think I will give in and let him wear his Steelers outfit one last time.
