Easter

Ok. So Easter was last weekend and the blog is a little behind. Here is Kristin and Colin with the famous Easter bunny. No chocolate for Colin yet. Did you know they make dessert flavors for Stage 2 infant food? Seems kind of silly, dosen't it? Could you imagine asking the doctor when is the right time to introduce desserts?

I am not sure who this kid is with Kristin's parents. He looks kind of like Colin, but the hair looks to be perfectly in place, so I know that can't be him. I will have to ask Kristin because I was up in NYC while Kristin was down in DC with Colin and this other kid, I guess.

Sippy Cup

"Would you believe this is my first time with a sippy cup?" says Colin. The milestones keep coming when you are 6 months old. We must admit that Colin is not doing as well as this picture would indicate. We just happened to get a shot when it looked like he knew what he was doing. More often than not, he just throws the sippy cup to the floor. The doctor said we had to introduce it so he can start to get the hang of it. Since we have a doctor's appointment on Friday, Kristin wants to be able to say that we have at least tried all of the things the doctor has recommended. That is what happens when you pair a chemist and an accountant as first time parents. We are trying to follow all of the instructions. The problem is that Colin isn't reading from the same script.

Grandparents Visit

It has difficult keeping up with the blog the last couple of weeks with my parents visiting, a business trip, getting sick, and going out of town last weekend. Let me back up and catch up on a couple of posts that I missed.

My parents were in town around March 15th to visit and celebrate Mom's birthday, Brian's birthday, Kristin's belated birthday and Colin's 1/2 birthday. Happy Birthday's all around.

We spent a nice day visiting Longwood Gardens. The flowers in the Conservatory were great but the one's outside still need a few more weeks. Come on Spring! We have a season pass now so I am sure we will be back with the outside flowers in bloom.

New Bath Tub

Check out my spacious new bathtub. The first one was getting a little snug.

Colin's grandparents from Pittsburgh are visiting this weekend so we are a little behind in our blog writing. Daddy has a couple trips upcoming, but we will do our best to keep the pictures coming.

Hope everyone is doing well out there and Go Heels!

Texas A&M and New Couch

Here is Colin relaxing on our new couch with his Texas A&M outfit provided by his relatives in Texas - thanks to Kristin's Aunt Sharon and Uncle Bill. It was a difficult process selecting new couches even with the incentive of getting rid of Brian's old "ugly" couches. As you can see, we ended up getting a sage colored couch to add some color to the room, but something less bold than say a red, orange or blue. As a nice compromise, these couches have a hidden reclining feature that provide some of the same comforts as Brian's old Lay-Z-Boys, but without the obvious look of a recliner. In this picture, Colin is contemplating the best time to spit up on the new couches.

Green Beans Are Not My Favorite

My first food after rice cereal and oatmeal was green beans. Well, it was really more like pureed green beans that had the right color. Granted I was still getting the hang of eating, but these are not my favorite. These vegetables you speak of...I don't think I like them.

After the green beans came an interesting colored food called carrots. It looked a lot like the green beans except for orange. These were much better and I am doing a better job opening my mouth for mommy and daddy. I can't wait to see what is next!

In some non-Colin related news, Brian received a promotion at work and the annoucement came out today. Brian's new title is Global Business Planning Manager - Fluorochemicals. As soon as he figures out what that means in terms of job responsibility, he will let you know.

Movers

On Saturday, we had a big project of moving some of Joe's furniture and switching around some of the rooms in our place. Colin enjoyed having the visitors. Here he is hanging out on Joe's couch as we get ready to take it out to the truck. He liked being one of the guys. Unfortunately, he is going to have to wait a few years for the NYC trip.
