Memorial Day Weekend

Colin is in my lap right now so this will have to be brief. Aunt Alison and Cousin Gavin and Keira came to visit this weekend and meet Kaitlin. The kids had a great time playing with each other. We visited Longwood Gardens and had a fun time getting wet in the Children's Garden. The cousins really feed off of one another and really get wound up. Kaitlin can't wait to join the fun.

OK, now Colin wants to type his favorite letter. uuu

Back to Kaitlin

Now back to more pictures of Kaitlin. The first week is flying by. Yesterday, she had her doctor's visit and passed with flying colors. She is down to 7 lbs and it is time to pack on the weight. Last night was our best night yet so far. She ate vigorously through the evening and then slept soundly. We had to wake her up for a 2 am feeding and then she was out for the rest of the night. We are getting used to having her around. It is hard to believe that we were not expecting her to mid next week.

Did the Trick!

I realize this going back a few days, but I could not miss highlighting the PA Railroad Museum that apparently did the trick to advance the pregnancy. The picture above was taken around 5 pm in Strasburg, PA (near Lancaster), by 7 pm we were home and Kristin was feeling funny and by 8:30 pm we were at the hospital and she was about ready to start pushing. Perhaps all of the walking at the museum was a factor. Good thing we did not have to flag down a horse and buggy as an escort to an Amish hospital.
We met Sonia and Garrett at the Train Museum. Colin had a great time and is still talking about it. I assume the same for Garrett. Sonia probably assumed with the baby coming that she lost her shot at being on the blog this year. This one is for you. You have to keep the fans happy out there.

Kaitlin Maggie Kipp

Kristin and I are thrilled to announce the arrival of Kaitlin Maggie Kipp who was born 2 weeks early at 12:45 am on May 16th. She weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz. Everyone is home and adjusting to very little sleep (except for Colin who did not get up once with all the crying). Colin loves his new baby sister - sometimes a bit too much. He likes to kiss her over and over and we have to remind him to be gentle.

These pictures are all from the first 2 days in the hospital. More pictures to come when I can find a moment.
